As St. Kosmas Aitolos tells us: "Soul and Christ are what we need. Even if the entire world collapses, it can't take those two things from us, unless we ourselves give them up willingly. These are the two things we must guard so that we don't lose them. So what sign are we waiting for now, my brethren? We aren't waiting for anything else other than the time when the all-holy Cross will shine in the sky brighter than the sun, and when our sweetest Christ and God will shine seven times brighter than the sun with thousands of thousands and myriads of myriads of Angels, with divine glory."
"And I tell you to do this: you should all make a bead bracelet that has thirty-three beads and use it while praying: 'Lord Jesus Christ, Son and Word of the living God, through the Theotokos and all Thy Saints have mercy on me, the sinner, your unworthy servant.' What is within this prayer, the 'Lord Jesus Christ...'? There is the Holy Trinity, our God, the incarnate economy of our Christ. All the Saints went to Paradise with the Cross and the 'Lord Jesus Christ...' Whoever says this prayer and does his cross, whether a man or woman, blesses the heaven, the earth, and the sea.
With the Cross and the 'Lord Jesus Christ...' are all illnesses healed. With the Cross and the 'Lord Jesus Christ...' the Apostles rose the dead and cured every illness. With the Cross and the 'Lord Jesus Christ...' a person refutes every heretic. With the Cross and the 'Lord Jesus Christ...' a person is sanctified and goes to Paradise to rejoice and delight like the Angels."
There in the very Greek Northern Epirus hangs in a tree a short monk, who did not have any rest in this world. As he hangs there he cries out, and his voice is heard throughout Greece and wherever in the world Greeks are: "My brethren, Christians and Greeks, remain steadfast in the faith, unshakeable in Orthodoxy; love the fatherland. For the sake of the faith and the fatherland am I hanged!"
